E-learning classes are being offered more than ever, allowing people from anywhere to take classes around the world. E-learning can help those who must balance work and education, as well as those seeking to learn from far-flung institutions. However, the introduction of entire e-learning degrees has not been received entirely well as skepticism still exists about the benefits of “on-line diplomas”.
Many universities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have the opportunity to adopt online classes but are hesitant due to the belief that they may not be in the best interest of their students. Also, many online programs are taken from other countries, meaning that they are not targeted specifically towards the UAE and its needs.
To answer this, universities are creating a “blended learning” program, which combines the benefits of traditional classroom learning and online classes. “In this way, we build online learning into our courses, rather than replace them with only online options. This learning is far more powerful,” said the general manager at Etisalat Academy.
