New Course Aims to Enhance Skills of Arabic Professors

Esper Branch Library Arabic Children's BooksPearson, in collaboration with Dubai College, has created a ‘Fundamentals of Interactive Arabic Teaching’ (FIAT) two-day course to enhance the skills of Arabic professors. Pearson’s Teacher Education Director of the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean said, “This new course is designed to enhance the professional development of Arabic teachers, helping them acquire, improve and master skills that contribute to their effectiveness and that ultimately impact the success of second language Arabic learners in the region.”

Pearson has worked with teachers in the past in the hopes to improve education in the Middle East. Effective learning styles are a large part of the instruction, with studies showing that students placed with efficient teachers learn three times faster.

Other courses have also been offered for Arabic teachers, such as a 30-hour “Early Childhood Development” course designed to benefit young children. As feedback is given on the current programs, more will soon follow.
